Jo Ann's Story
Jo Ann Dickens Salyers, 83, of Cannonsburg, went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
Jo Ann was born Sept. 7, 1934, in Ashland, to the late George Dickens and Minnie Sallie Dickens.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Hager, Carl and Vernon Dickens
Jo Ann was devoted to her family and friends and spent her life caring for others. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and watching her children and grandchildren grow. Her most cherished times were spent sitting on her porch and talking with her family.
Jo Ann was an avid Cincinnati Reds and University of Kentucky Wildcats basketball fan.
She will be missed by all who knew her.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 65 years, Marvin Salyers; two daughters, Debbie (Larry) Conley of Summit and Gail (Jim) Click of Cannonsburg; four grandchildren, Steven (Cayti) Miller, Angie Conley, Stephanie Conley and James (Kristy) Click; eight great-grandchildren, Braydon Conley, Shelby Clark, Marlie Conley, Caleb Miller, Mason Conley, Bailey Jo Clarkston and Maxwell Click; one great-great-grandchild, Carter Conley; a lifelong friend, Carol Webb; and countless friends and extended family members.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018, at Lazear Funeral Home in Ashland.
Family will call from 10 to 11 a.m. with visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday a the funeral home.
