Jo Ed Nunley, 73, of Catlettsburg, was "Promoted to Glory" Friday, Nov. 24, 2017, at Community Hospice Care Center, with his devoted family at his side.
Mr. Nunley was born Jan. 11, 1944, in Catlettsburg, to the late Willard and Betty Burgess Nunley.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Harry Lee Nunley.
He was a graduate of Thomas R. Brown High School, retired in 1995 from Ashland Oil #2 Refinery, where he was an electrician.
Joe Ed enjoyed working, skipping rope, ran track in school and was a metal sculpting artisan. He was a member of Faith Independent Baptist Church.
Joe Ed is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Kathy McGuire Nunley; their sons, Brett Nunley and wife Rhonda, of Flatwoods and B.J. Nunley of Ashland; one grandson, Colton Nunley of Flatwoods; two brothers, Jack Nunley (Patty) of Catlettsburg and Willard Nunley Jr. (Sharon) of Ashland; and a sister, Ellen Cornwell of Catlettsburg.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2017, at Neal Funeral Home, 2409 Center Street in Catlettsburg with Pastors Tom Keelin and Carl D. Boggs officiating. Final resting place will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
Visiting hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
