John W. "Jack" Burroughs, 83, of Worthington, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 25, 2018, in King's Daughters Medical Center.
Mr. Burroughs was born August 18, 1934, in Worthington, a son of the late Hobert and Ada Skinner Burroughs. He is also preceded in death by three brothers, Gary, Paul and Dick; two sisters, Mary and Kathryn.
Mr. Burroughs retired from CSX as a railroad Carman. He is a U.S. Army veteran who proudly served his country.
Mr. Burroughs is survived by his loving wife, Ellen Truesdell; one daughter, Johnda Burroughs; two sons, Scott (Renee) Truesdell of Dayton, OH, and Todd Burroughs of Raceland; five grandchildren, Heather, Zachary, Kyle, Chase and Evan; three great-grandchildren, Delaney, Liam and Hendrix; and several special nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be Thursday, February 1, 2018, at Raceland Christian Church at 7 p.m. with Elder Greg Denton and Elder Earl Marshal officiating.
Friends and family may call after 5 p.m.
Committal services will begin at 1 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2018, at the Kentucky Veteran's Cemetery North East with military rites by American Legion Post 93.
