John Anthony Murphy, 34 of Sandy Hook, passed away Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017, in Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.
John was born Feb. 16, 1983, in Washington Court House, Ohio, the son of Angela Renee and Terry C. "K.K." Ison of Sandy Hook and John S. and Tina E. Murphy of Woodinville, Wash.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ellis P. Ison and Della Mae Pennington; and paternal grandfather, John D. Murphy.
He was of the Baptist faith and a union laborer with Capital Tunneling.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter, Emily Grace Murphy of Sandy Hook; his paternal grandmother, Mildred A. Murphy of Washington Court House, Ohio; seven brothers and sisters, Kenneth F. Ison of Sandy Hook, Lance M. Murphy of Missouri, Daniel T. DeBeau of Washington, Michelle Oney and husband Mitchell Oney of Sandy Hook, Amanda L. Hill of Missouri, Rebekah E. McBride of Washington and Crysta M. McMaster of Scotland.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 16, 2017, at Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home in Sandy Hook with Brother Steve Nickels officiating. Burial will be in Oney and Murphy Cemetery.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
