Joyce's Story

Joyce Gail Ferrell Dalton, 75, of Westwood, wife of Frank Dalton, died peacefully, Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.
Joyce was born Jan. 19, 1942, in St. Albans, W.Va., a daughter of the late Robert Allen and Mable Marie Pauley Ferrell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert Frank Dalton; and two sisters, Janice Lichtner and Deborah Thacker.
A graduate of Ashland High School Class of 1959, she was a member of Williams Creek Church of God and KYOVA. She loved praising the Lord.
Joyce enjoyed listening to music and Alabama was her favorite. Family time and visits from friends was always a pleasure to her. Her home health nurses were a blessing to her and so loved by all the family.
Mom was kind to all who were in her presence. Nobody left her side feeling blue.
In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by a son, Frank Dalton Jr. (Pam) of Sarasota, Fla.; four daughters, Anita Vaughan (Carl) of Columbus, Ind., Joy Davenport (Rick Barton) of Coalgrove, Ohio, Beth Smith (Wayne) of Ashland and Diana Meeks (Dee) of Westwood; an honorary daughter, Denise Meeks; nine grandchildren, Tim and Noah Vaughan, Joshua and Jeremie Bayless, Cameron and Nathan Smith, Shandi Inscoe, Emily Meeks and Sarah Lane; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-grandchild expected soon.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, 2017, at Preston Family Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be after noon Friday at the funeral home.
