Kathy Elaine Clarke Donta


Kathy was born on Father's Day, June 18, 1950, in Ashland, Ky., to parents Darwin K. and Opal (Huff) Clarke. She was one of six children: Rosemary Anderson of Bradenton, FL, Terrie Neufarth (Jack) of Fort Thomas, KY., Kevin (Beth) of Rush, KY, and Leif (Ashlee) of Ashland, Ky. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Donta, her father, Darwin, and her brother, John Clarke.
Kathy graduated from Boyd County High School and was a retired hairdresser, previously owning Magic 7 Salon in Westwood. She was also a landlord of several houses in Ashland.
Kathy married her soulmate, Robert "Bob" Donta, Dec. 30, 1991. They were devoted to each other and their sons, Michael Raymond Walton II (Buffy Jo Purdon) of Ashland, KY, and David Hicks (Leigh-Ann Wilks Hicks) of Nicholasville, Ky. She lovingly spoiled her only granddaughter, Abigale Walton of Louisa, Ky. Kathy loved all children and was a beloved aunt to all her nieces and nephews.
God in his infinite wisdom and mercy took Kathy to his heavenly home Friday, April 12, 2019, as a result of a heart attack in her home.
Friends may call at the Preston Family Funeral Home Tuesday, April 16 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial will directly follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to: Ashland Animal Rescue Fund (AARF)12365 Kevin Drive, Ashland, Kentucky 41102.

Mrs. Clarke Kathy is part of many memories. She will be remembered lovingly by myself and many of our classmates (BCHS 1968). She could always make me smile.

Kathy was a good friend. Loved her and her family, so sorry for the loss.
