Katrina's Story

Text size

Katrina Ann Henderson, 57, of Bowling Green, formerly of Ashland, passed away after a long fight with cancer, May 9, 2017 peacefully in her home with family at her side.
She was born March 4, 1960, in Fort Campbell, a daughter of the late Tommy Kenneth Turner Jr. and Anita Fowler Turner.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Lisa June Turner of Ashland.
Katrina was a 1978 graduate of Boyd County High school. She was a loving and caring daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Katrina had a smile that would light up a room. She was always willing to help someone in need. Katrina became a mother at an early age and spent all her time with her three children. As her children grew up, she could be found cheering from the stands at baseball games and toting them around to cheerleading and pageants. Like all mothers, Katrina became her kids biggest fan and their success became hers as well. Katrina was not only a wonderful mother, but also a doting grandmother, who loved anytime that she got to spend with her grandbabies. As she would say "she loved them to the moon and back". Katrina will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by a son, James William (Amy) Henderson Jr. of Zanesville, Ohio; Rebecca Lynn Lance of Bowling Green; Amber Nicole (Billy) Barker of Greenup; a brother, Louis Ray (Lisa) Turner of Rome, Maine and Madonna Thomasine (David) Cook of Greenup; and nine grandchildren, Kaleb, Mackenzie, Isabella Henderson, Blake Zambos, Chloe Lance, Bryttany, Austin, Trinity and Isaiah Barker.
A Cremation-With-Care will be at Cone Funeral Home in Bowling Green.
A Celebration of Life gathering is being arranged by the family but no date has been established at this time.
At the family's request, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family's gofundme.com (Katrina's Celebration of Life) to help defray memorial/cremation costs.
