Kelley Joe "Joey: Bennett, 33, of Catlettsburg passed away Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017, at his home.
Joe was born Aug. 2, 1984, in Huntington, W.Va., to Charles and Kathy Ross Bennett of Catlettsburg.
Joe was preceded in death by his grandparents, Billy Joe and Marie Ross, Kelley and Sibyl Bennett, Dorothy Cook Bennett; and a uncle, Bill Tom Ross.
He was a graduate of Boyd County High School, attended University of Kentucky and was employed by Texas Roadhouse as a bartender and server for 15 years.
Joe was a founding member of RWA (Rush Wrestling Association). His hobbies included attending concerts with friends and family, watching professional wrestling and UK sports. Joe was of the Methodist faith.
He is survived by his parents, Charles and Kathy; a sister, Katy Bennett of Lexington; aunts, uncles and cousins, Brenda Ross of Catlettsburg, Cari (Ron) Rucker, Crista (Chris) Hoffman, Jimmy (Carol) Ross of Rutledge, Tenn., Kyle (Carolyn) Ross, Bailey Ross, Courtney (Houston) Howard, Sarah Praise Howard, Tony Ross of Catlettsburg, Tony Bennett of Bowling Green, Marty (Michelle) Ross of Catlettsburg, Kylee Ross, Eve (Sam) Bennett-Wood of Palo Alto, Calif., Dorothy Wood, Samuel (Lila) Wood and Leia; his brother from another mother, Todd (Holly) Whitley of Hollywood, Fla., Rusty (Angie) Whitley of Rush, Rachael (Shane) Starcher of Huntington, W.Va.; his beloved dog, Tom Petty; and a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins and tons of friends who were like family.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017, at Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home, 2702 Panola Street in Catlettsburg with Rev. Richard Brown officiating. Final resting place will be in Catlettsburg Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Funeral Home.
