Kennith's Story

Kennith "Pap" Grizzle, 90, of Ironton, Ohio, formerly of Flatwoods, passed away April 7, 2017, in Brandon, Fla. after a brief illness.
Ken or "Peanut" was born Sept. 1, 1926, in Bellefonte to the late Luther and Minnie Moore Grizzle. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Mary M. Brown Grizzle; a great-granddaughter, Raleigh King; 10 brothers and sisters, Hester Grizzle of Flatwoods, Mary (Herb) Price of Westwood, Thelma (Clyde) Porter of Sciotoville, Ohio,
He was a U.S. Naval veteran of World War II and received several medals. American Area Camp Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Camp Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon and the World War II Victory Medal.
Kennith loved to fish, hunt and play golf. He retired after more than 40 years as a lineman for the Ohio Power Company.
He is survived by his daughters, Paula L. (Greg) Mowery of Ironton, Ohio, and Charlotte A. (Maury) Williams of Flatwoods; sons, Kennith J. (Sharon) Grizzle of Ashland, Larry G. (Diane) Grizzle of Ironton and Jeffry A. (Tammy) Grizzle of Flatwoods; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He will be remembered and honored for his service to his country at 11 a.m. Sunday, May 28, 2017, at the Whitt Cemetery in Argillite.
