Kimberly Renee Calvert Lawhorn, 45 of Ashland, passed away Friday June 30, 2017, at her home.
Mrs. Lawhorn was born May 26, 1972, in Oak Hill, W.Va., to Bill Calvert, of Oak Hill and Pamella Allen Baldry (Donald) of Barboursville, W.Va.
Kim was a 1990 graduate of Barboursville High School and Marshall University, where she was in the Marching Thunder band. While at Marshall, she was the first freshmen to be chosen as first chair Clarinet. She attended Rose Hill Baptist Church.
Kim enjoyed music, scary movies, fishing and watching NASCAR. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends and taking care of others.
She is survived by her loving husband of 12 years, Melvin Lawhorn, Jr.; their fur baby, Maggie; her parents; four siblings, William Calvert of Oak Hill, Angela Riffe of Oak Hill, Donald Baldrey Jr. of Charlotte, N.C., and Donna Lake of Barboursville; a grandmother, Patty Joyce Wilson of Huntington, W.Va.; a grandfather, Jack B. Allen of Dover Del.; several cousins, nieces and one nephew; and her best friend, Stacy Arnett.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum in Ashland with Pastor Matt Shamblin officiating.
Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Mausoleum.
Neal-Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home in Catlettsburg is charge of arrangements.
