M.C. Hurn, 81, of Ocala, Fla., died Thursday, May, 18, 2017, while visiting Fort Walton Beach, Fla.
He was born Dec. 2, 1935, in Ashland, to the late James Edward and Bessie Ann Dehart Hurn.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lillian Hurn Gentry of Flatwoods.
M.C. retired as an electrician after 40 years of service at AK Steel in Ashland. He was a member of the 82nd Airborne Division of the U.S. Army. He was a member of Friendship Masonic Lodge 53 in Ocala, Pollard Baptist Church in Ashland and Emerald Coast Airborne Association of Panama City, Fla.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Dixon Hurn of Ocala; a son, Anthony King of Chapel Hill, N.C.; a daughter, Marlena King (Ben) Jones, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; two brothers, Acey William (Julie Womble) Hurn and Thomas (Feather) Hurn of Mary Neal, Texas; a sister, Diane (James) Price of Flatwoods; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Brenda Nolan of Sunset Beach, N.C,; and uncle, Bobby Kersey of Flatwoods; and several nieces and nephews.
In keeping with the wishes of M.C., there will be no formal services.
