Margaret Curtis Sperry, 85, of Catlettsburg, passed away Friday, May 26, 2017, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
Mrs. Sperry was born Sept. 27, 1931, in Wayne County, W.Va., to the late Henry and Mary Elizabeth Knipp Curtis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband of 43 years, Thomas D. Sperry; and a son, David Sperry; brothers, Carl Curtis, Millard Curtis, Ernest Curtis and Donald Curtis; sisters, Ollie Newton and Hazel Curtis; sister-in-law, Violet Curtis; and a brother-in-law, Floyd Penix.
Margaret was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother and she enjoyed reading, cooking and arts and crafts.
Survivors include one daughter, Carolyn Bryan and her husband, Charlie, of Ashland; a daughter-in-law, Carol Meek Sperry of Catlettsburg; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Wilma Penix of Ashland; and a sister-in-law, Margaret Curtis of Huntington, W.Va.
Funeral services for Mrs. Sperry will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 1, 2017, at Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home, 2702 Panola Street in Catlettsburg. Pastor Mike Amos will officiate. Final resting place will be in Bluebaum Cemetery.
