Margaret Ellen "Peg" Walthour of Winchester, formerly of Flatwoods, beloved wife of 67 years of Clarence "Bud" Walthour, passed away Jan. 16, 2018.
She was born April 17, 1932, in Greensburg, Penn., to the late Lawrence and Ruth Carnes Keough.
She was preceded in death by five siblings, Gail Keough, Linda Belbin, Ruth Williamson, Tom Keough and Steve Keough; and a grandson, Benjamin Potter.
Peg was an original employee of Russell Hill's Department store. After retiring, she volunteered her time at Hillcrest-Bruce Mission and Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.
She was a member of Community Presbyterian Church of Bellefonte and attended First Presbyterian church of Winchester. Peg was also a member of the Grassland Community Church family. She was an avid reader and enjoyed participating in book clubs and Bible studies.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one sister, Laurie (Tom) Hart of The Villages, Fla.; three children, Kathy (Harry) Simpson of Irmo, S.C., Rev. Dave Walthour of Enfield, N.H. and Cyndi (Mike) Downing of Winchester, with whom she resided; six grandchildren, Matthew (Jenny) Potter of Irmo, S.C., Alli Ford of Lexington, Grace (Andrew) Best of Totnes England, John (Erin) Walthour of Grantham, N.H., Marli Downing of Corbin and Luke Walthour of Burlington, Vt.; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018, at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens by Rev. Stewart Schnieder and Rev. Ryan Badney.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hillcrest-Bruce Mission, 1819 Eloise ST., Ashland, KY 41101.
Arrangements are under the direction of Caniff Funeral Home in Westwood.
