Martha Lynn Greenslait Hughes, of Raceland, wife of James Woodrow Hughes, went to be with the Lord Nov. 29, 2017.
Martha was born Dec. 9th, 1944, in Ironton, Ohio, a daughter of the late Thelma Cox Greenslait and James "Cutty" Greenslait.
In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by a brother, James Wayne Greenslait.
She is survived by her husband; her twin brother, Jerry Brynn Greenslait (Carolyn); her sister, Sally Beth Greenslait Rice; her daughter, Jami Bethanne Hughes Smith (Kathy); two sons, Darrell Wayne Hughes and Paul Michael Hughes (Amanda); three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Martha was a lifelong member of Raceland Christian Church. Her pastimes included photography, singing, sewing, crafts and cooking for and with her children and grandchildren. She was a longtime Sunday School teacher and church youth group advisor and she counseled and mentored countless young people.
Martha is much loved and will be sorely missed.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, 2017, at Raceland Christian Church by Minister Jimmy Tingler. Burial will be in Brick Union Cemetery in Lloyd.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017, at Evans Funeral Home in Raceland.
