Mary E. Sloas Ison Mary E. Sloas Ison, 91 of Bruin, Ky. passed away Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018 at the Carter County Nursing & Rehab Center at Grayson, Ky.
Mrs. Ison was born Jan. 8, 1927 at Dobbins, in Elliott County, the daughter of the late John Willie and Allie Mae Pennington Sloas. She was also preceded in death by 6 brothers: Willie Linville, Ezra, Estill, Johnny, Elwood and Carl Sloas.
She was a Christian and member of the Upper Bruin Enterprise Baptist Church and a homemaker.
Mrs. Sloas is survived by her sisters and brothers; Dorothy Whitt of Sandy Hook, Ky.; Ruth (Dearl) Thomas of Willard, Ky.; Lowell Sloas of Grayson, Ky., and Leroy Sloas of Berea, Ky.
Funeral will be conducted Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Upper Bruin Enterprise Baptist Church with Bro. Michael Lewis and Elder Tim Porter officiating. Burial at the Ison Family Cemetery. Friends may call after 6p.m. Wednesday at Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home at Sandy Hook, Ky. and at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Upper Bruin Enterprise Baptist Church.

If ever there was 2 people that loved and cherished each other it was Aunt Mary and Uncle Clayton. They both were gentle natured and quiet people. I am sure they are in Paradise and joyful to be reunited.

We loved Aunt Mary very much and loved visiting her whenever we were in Bruin. She was preceded in death by her husband Clayton Ison, whom she loved very much. We will miss her!
