Mearl Marie Jackson, 91, of Hitchins, went to be with her Lord on Monday, August 28, 2017, at Kingsbrook Life Center in Ashland.
Mearl was born January 17, 1926, in Hitchins, KY, a daughter of the late William Roscoe and Hattie Mae Hall Mullins.
She was the oldest living member at the time of her death of Hitchins Wesleyan Church and retired from the Carter County School System.
She loved collecting her dolls and was a avid quilt maker giving them to people in the community.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Jackson Jr.; seven brothers, Allard, Bruce, Estill, Chester, Elwood, Roscoe Jr. and John Henry Mullins; three sisters, Doris Jackson, Ethel Seagraves and Mayme Nichols.
Her survivors include three sons, Robert (Joyce) Jackson of Hitchins, Herbie (Nancy) Jackson and Lowell (Rita) Jackson both of Grayson; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday at Malone Funeral Home with Denver Prater, minister. Burial will be in the East Carter County Memory Gardens.
Friends may call Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. and after 9 a.m. on Friday.
