Mildred Fryer, 94, of Ashland, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2017, in St. Mary's Medical Center.
She was born June 19, 1923, in Boyd County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Richard and Gertrude Gillium Fryer. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Marie Meade, June Morrison and Maxine Wilburn; and a brother, Maxvil Fryer.
Mildred was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Ashland where she taught Sunday School for several years. She was valedictorian of her graduating class at Boyd County High School and retired as vice president of Sun Trust Bank after 26 years of service.
She is survived by a host of loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, September 8, 2017, at Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel with Pastor Charles Shields officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
Visitation will be from Noon until 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mildred's memory may be made to First Assembly of God Church, 525 Blackburn Avenue, Ashland, KY 41101.
