Melissa "Missy" Griffitts Keesee, 47, of Ashland, wife of Michael Keesee, went to be with her Lord Saturday evening, March 4, 2017, in King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland with her family by her side following an extended illness.
Missy was born Jan. 22, 1970, to James H. and Bonnie Minor Griffitts in Ashland.
Missy was a window clerk with the U.S. Postal Service at the Ashland Post Office. She was of Baptist faith and attended Tunnel Hill Free Will Baptist Church in Ashland.
The caring staff of AIMS at King;s Daughters Medical Center arranged to have Missy's wishes being granted of seeing her two youngest sons in their graduation caps and gowns. The video of this special event went viral on social media.
Missy leaves behind her loving husband of 29 years, Michael Lee Keesee of Ashland; her parents, James and Bonnie Griffitts of Ashland; four sons, Mychal Andrew Keesee of Ashland, Bobby Lee Keesee II of Flatwoods, Zachary James Keesee of Ashland and Bradon Tyler Keesee of Ashland; two brothers, James "Junior" Griffitts (Kim) of Catlettsburg and Robert Edgar Griffitts (Kelly) of Catlettsburg; ae sister, Tammi Griffitts Mullins (Glen) of Ashland; a seven year old grandchild, Kassidy Bliss Workman of Catlettsburg; along with a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be at noon Thursday, March 9, 2017, at Caniff Funeral Home in Westwood by Brother Bob Baldridge and Brother Bill Oaks. Burial will be in Dixon Cemetery in Westwood.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
