Morgan Stevens, 94, of Flatwoods, went to be with the Lord Saturday, March 10, 2018, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
Mr. Stevens was born Dec. 28, 1923, in Milton, W.Va., a son of the late William and Veronia Carroll Stevens. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Wilma Ramey Stevens; and one daughter, Melissa Stevens.
He proudly served his country in WWII as a Private First Class in the U.S. Army for five years, where he received the Purple Heart. He worked for CSX as a Carman Helper for 35 years before retiring.
Mr. Stevens is survived by his wife, Darlene Manning Gillum Stevens; one daughter, Sherry Roebuck of Baldwin, Fla.; three sons, David (Sheila) Oxsher of Columbus, Ohio, Terry (Gena) Stevens of Raceland and Albert Dean (Susan) Stevens of Foley, Ala.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at Evans Funeral Home in Raceland with Rev. David Seals and Rev. Paul Neal officiating. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday March 12, 2018, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
