Paul Vernon Roark, 88, of Russell, passed away Friday, June 23, 2017, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital, surrounded by his family.
He was born July 13, 1928, in Wurtland, a son of the late Roy Wesley Roark and Minnie Smith Roark.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Don Roark and Frank Roark; and three sisters, Ruby Holt, Ruth Roark and Shirley Roark.
He was a member of Bridges Christian Church, formerly First Christian Church of Russell, where he served as a Deacon. He served his country in the U.S Marine Corps during the Korean War and retired from CSX Railroad.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Della Louise Heineman Roark; two daughters, Debra (Russell) Blanton of Winchester and Pamela (Michael) Huff of South Point, Ohio; two grandchildren, David (Ashley) Blanton of Lexington and Emily (James) Trujillo of Louisville; one brother, Dale (Patricia) Roark of Flatwoods; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m., Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods.
Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods is in charge of arrangements.
