Mrs. Phyllis Jean Caudill Adams, 81, of Taylorsville, Ga., formerly of Hitchins, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017.
She was born June 21, 1936, in Hitchins, one of 11 children to the late David Wiley Caudill and Ollie Gladys Howard Caudill.
Jean was preceded in death by her son, Anthony "Tony" Adams in 2000.
Jean gave her heart to God at the age of 17. She attended church, most of her life, at Church of God of Prophecy, where she was a lay minister. She has been a Sunday school teacher, youth leader, missionary leader and helped with other activities in the church. Jean loved to read, especially the Bible. She worked for Dollar General for about 13 years.
Jean is survived by her husband of 62 years, Owen Elden Adams; two daughters, Kathy O'Banion and husband Jeff of Taylorsville, Ga., Penny Whitt and husband David of Grayson; 11 grandchildren; a sister Joyce Beary of Overland Park, Kan; her best friend of many years, Carolyn Littleton; and many other friends and family members who all loved her deeply. She will be missed by all.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 16, 2017, at Malone Funeral Home with Delmar Rogers and John Sergent officiating. Burial will be in Caudill Family Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17, 2017, at the funeral home.
