Richard Allen "Butch" Kiger, 71, of Ashland, husband of Nancy Dean Kiger, went home to his Lord and Savior on Christmas Day with his loving family by his side.
Butch was born Aug. 5, 1945, in Battle Creek, Mich., a son of the late Calvin and Lillian Savage Kiger.
He was a retired store room clerk with AK Steel, a member of the Cannonsburg First Baptist Church, former pastor of many churches in the area and was serving as the director of missions (DOR) for the Greenup Baptist Association.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife Nancy, include a daughter, Emily Kiger of Ashland; a son, D.J. Hale of Ashland; a grandson, Malachi Allen Kiger; and a sister, Lillian Nolte of Ashland. Butch will be sadly missed by all of those he has spread the 'good news' to over the years.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016, at Cannonsburg First Baptist Church by Pastor Stan Williams, Pastor Joed Rice and Pastor Michael Rice. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
Preston Family Funeral Home in Ashland is in charge of arrangements.
