Richard MacQueen "Rick" Moore Jr., 57, of Ashland, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, in King's Daughters Medical Center.
Mr. Moore was born Jan. 31, 1960, in Ashland, to Donna Arnett Moore of Ashland and the late Richard M. Moore Sr.
Rick was a 1978 graduate of Boyd County High School. He worked for 14 years at AK Steel, retired in 2005 from Toyota and was a Millwright with Local 1076.
Rick was a member of Oakland Avenue Baptist Church and Fireside Circle. He volunteered at the Community Kitchen and Misfit Ministries. He was a Friend of Bikers for Christ. He enjoyed concerts, gardening, volunteering, anything outdoors and his family, including his dog Talon.
He is survived by his mother, Donna; his wife, Lita Mullins Moore; three children, Richard MacQueen "Trey" Moore III of Ashland, Kasie (Ryan) Kennedy of Edgewood and daughter by marriage, Chelsea Osborne of Ashland; he was Poppy to his granddaughters, Josey Moore, Jordyn Moore and Quinn Kennedy; a sister, Susie (Brian) Akers of Ashland; a father-in-law, Hughy Mullins; a brother-in-law Randy (Alisa) Mullins; two sisters-in-law, Cheryl (Mark) Shumway and Dina (Michael) Griffith; a niece, Kelsea Akers; and his best friend, Lee Ann Moore.
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, 2017, at Neal Funeral Home, 2409 Center Street in Catlettsburg with Pastors Mike Blankenship and Jack Powers officiating.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Funeral Home.
