Richard Eual Potter, 75, of Ashland, passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
Richard was born November 14, 1941, in Greenup County to the late Elva and Maudie Hale Potter. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his loving Janet Bates Potter in March; two brothers, Ralph Potter and Samuel Potter; and two sisters, Judy Mayo and Phyllis Fugate.
Richard was a former employee of Hanson Brick Company in the Electrical Maintenance Department. He was also a member of Ashland Eagles Aerie #2329 and Steel Workers Union #1865.
One of Richard's greatest passions was playing music. He played for years at every local establishment and played lead guitar in his last band "River Cities Band".
Richard leaves behind one son, Rick Potter (Tina) of Catlettsburg; two daughters, Tonneta Roark (Rick) of Ashland and Tammy Lynn Parmelee of Seattle, Washington; nine grandchildren, Seth Roark, Tasha Dennis, Travis Roark, Allison Roark, Karen Grady, Josh Brown, Erick Brown, Kaelyn Potter and Cade Potter; and six great-grandchildren, Kiley Roark, Chloe Roark, Roslyn Roark, Aaron Grady, Asher Roark and Arison Roark; along with a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be at Noon Monday at Caniff Funeral Home in Westwood with the Rev. Tim Holmes officiating. Entombment will follow at Ashland Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday from 11-12.
