Rita Joy Roar Workman, 66, of Flatwoods, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018.
Rita was born in Ashland to the late Walter and Nina Gilliam Roar. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Brandon Stepp; brothers James Roar, Richard Roar, Jackie Roar, Keith Lefebvre, Dean Lefebvre and Mark Lefebvre; and sisters Eleanor Gallion, Shirley Williams and Judy Morrison.
She was also preceded in death by her former husband, Stephen Dillow.
Rita was a retired home caregiver who provided care and companionship to several clients throughout the years. She was a lifelong member of Wurtland Church of God, where she attended since a child. She enjoyed being a part of the lady's crocheting group and making blankets for newborns in the NICU at King's Daughters Medical Center. Rita also loved flower gardening and was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds.
Rita leaves behind her husband, Steve Workman of Flatwoods; two daughters, Sherri (Randy) Stepp of Louisville and Angela Vinson of Ashland; a son, Steve (Rachel) Workman of Flatwoods; grandchildren Isaac Vinson, Morgan Vinson and Ava Vinson, all of Ashland, Oliver Workman, Kacie Ferguson and Kaitlyn Ferguson, all of Flatwoods; brothers E.W. Roar of Wurtland, Mike Lefebvre of Orlando, Fla., and Marvin Lefebvre of Canton, Ga.; sisters Roberta Meadows of Wurtland, Loretta Clark of New Boston, Ohio, Mary May of Warren, Ohio and Sandra Newman of Salem, Va.; a special and beloved niece, Evadean Woods of Ashland; her fur baby, Teddy, who never left her side; and a host of loving family, friends, and church family.
The family would like to extend their warmest and heartfelt appreciation to Community Hospice of Ashland, who provided Rita with exceptional care over the last several weeks.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2018, at Wurtland Church of God with Reverend Pete Roar and Pastor James Daniels officiating.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018, and from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
Music Funeral Home in Greenup is in charge of arrangements.
