Rosetta's Story

Rosetta Laney Elliott, 80, of Worthington, died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016, in St. Mary's Hospital in Huntington, W.Va.
She was born June 21, 1936, in Catlettsburg, to the late Joe "Jack" and Mary Etta Deskins Laney.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Joann Prescott of Utah.
She is survived by her husband, Claude Elliott who resides in Oakmont Manor in Flatwoods; her greatest earthly treasures, her two children, daughter Claudiene Elliott Mullins (Brian Lee Mullins) of Worthington and Philip Ernest Elliott of Worthington; three grandchildren, Jessica Mullins Niece (Scott Niece) of Raceland, Philip Brian Mullins of Worthington and Dru Hunter Elliott of Lexington; one great-grandson, Wyatt Lee Bennett Niece of Raceland; two sisters, Jackie Bailey of Westwood and Clara Swim of Clifton Forge, Va.
Rosetta will be remembered as a loving, devoted wife, a proud and adoring mother, grandmother and "Maw Rose" and her beautiful big loving heart and her big beautiful smile.
A graveside service was Friday, Dec. 23, 2016 in Catlettsburg Cemetery with her family and friends in attendance. A celebration of life with family followed the graveside service.
Our hearts will sadly miss her every single day, but knowing she is at peace, has gone to Heaven and will be waiting to welcome us home with her big beautiful smile as she always has. If you knew her, you would have heard just how much she loved and adored her family. She will forever live in our hearts. First she gave us roots, then gave us wings. We love and miss you Mom, Mamaw and "Maw Rose", always and forever.
Evans Funeral Home in Raceland was in charge of arrangements.
