Ruby's Story

Ruby Marie O'Byran Bayless, 85, of Catlettsburg, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2017, at Community Hospice Care Center surrounded by her adoring family.
Mrs. Bayless was born June 12, 1932, in Wayne, WV, to the late Samuel and Lula Moore O'Bryan.
Ruby was a homemaker and worked in the election polls for 66 years. Her hobbies include bingo and quilting. She was a member of Twin Fork Nazarene Church.
Ruby is survived by her husband of 68 years, Thomas P. "June" Bayless Jr.; their children, George (Hazel) Bayless of Catlettsburg, Kathi Adams (Tim Eppenstein) of Ashland, Jerry Bayless of Catlettsburg, Garry (Margaret) Bayless of Catlettsburg, Linda (Butch) Poplin of Catlettsburg; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Delores Bayless of Hesperia, CA; one sister, Helen O'Bryan of Ohio; and one sister-in-law, Lisa O'Bryan of Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Thomas Bayless; brothers, Curtis O'Bryan, James O'Bryan, Charles O'Bryan, Douglas O'Bryan, Samuel O'Bryan, William O'Bryan; sisters, Anna Black, Nellie Herman, Joyce Herman; brothers-in-law, James Black, Louis Herman, Harold Herman; and sisters-in-law, Dorothy O'Brian, Charlene O'Bryan and Marilyn O'Bryan.
Funeral services for Mrs. Bayless will be at 1 p.m. Friday, October 6, 2017, at the Neal Funeral Home, 2409 Center Street, Catlettsburg. Pastors James Muncy, Frank Hulett and Charles Bayless will officiate. Final resting place in Bayless Cemetery.
Visiting hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
