Ruth Ann Dixon, 79, of Westwood, wife of Billy Dixon, died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, following an extended illness.
She was born July 13,1938, in Westwood, a daughter of the late Charles and Estella Hoffer Holbrook.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a sister, Betty Bellomy of Westwood; two daughters, Peggy Blount and husband Scott of Vero Beach, Fla., and Terry Parker and husband Alvin of Westwood; five grandchildren, Elliott (Abi) Blount, Ian (McKayla) Blount, Emily (Bryant) Smith, Amber (Henry) Mollett and Bradley (Tiphani) Parker; five great-grandchildren, Micah Blount, Eden Blount, Elijah Blount, Landon Blount and Emerson Blount.
Ruth was a member of Westwood Freewill Baptist Church and was retired from Russell Independent School System.
Funeral services will be at noon Friday, Dec. 15, 2017, at Westwood Freewill Baptist Church by Pastor Ivan Asbury. Burial will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017, at Preston Family Funeral Home and after 11 a.m Friday at the church. Condolences may be sent to prestonfamilyfuneralhome.com.
