Ruth McLeod, 85, of Raceland, passed away peacefully Monday at her residence.
Mrs. McLeod was born September 16, 1932, to the late Kenneth Yates and Bessie Blevins McFarlin in Carter County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Eugene McLeod; stepfather Ollie McFarlin; brothers, Raymond, Leroy, Hairl, Gene, Randy, Leonard and Delmouse Yates; and sister, Ramona McFarlin.
Ruth was retired from the Greenup County Libraries. She was an avid reader and quilter who loved to fish, play bingo and cards.
Surviving are her children, Robin (Dennis) Deere, Holly (Bryan) Ross, and John (Donna) McLeod; grandchildren, Megan Cathey, Billie-Jo Loughry, Justin Deere, Haileigh Ross, Clifton Ross, Cassandra Hamilton, Christie Smith, Beth Deere, James Deere, Dennis Deere Jr.; great-grandchildren, Paige Harris, Brady Harris, Christian Harris, Izzy Harris, Erin Archie, Austin Archie, Shannan Smith, Emily Smith and Ethan Smith; sister Juanita (Don) Inskeep; two stepbrothers; and four stepsisters.
Graveside services will be at 12 p.m., Friday, October 27, 2017, in Rude Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 26, 2017, from 6-8 p.m. at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods.
