Ruth Stewart Parsons
She was born January 22, 1919, in Carter County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Ellis and Grace Duley Stewart.
Ruth was a member of the United Methodist Church in Olive Hill, Kentucky and served as president of the United Methodist Women for several years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Norman "Red" Parsons; one son, Donnie Parsons; and one brother, Earl Stewart.
After graduating from Prichard High School in Grayson, Kentucky, Ruth attended business school in Huntington, West Virginia. She was a secretary and stenographer and worked in offices in Grayson and Olive Hill, Kentucky; and during World War II in the Postal Service Department in Washington D.C.
Ruth is survived by one daughter, Kathy (Mike) Stevens of Ashland, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Kyle (Luann) Stevens of Cincinnati, Ohio, Hollie (Jason) Davis of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; six great-grandchildren, Audrey, Dylan, Carson and Sophie Stevens of Cincinnati, Ohio, Bailie and Braxton Davis of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; and one sister, Fern (Ralph) Redmond of Argillite, Kentucky. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, February 11, 2019, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother Terrell Webb officiating. Burial will follow in the Olive Hill Memorial Park in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Friends may visit from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday, February 11, 2019, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West Highway US 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
