Ruth Elaine Thornsbury Whitt, 74, of Grayson, went to be with her Lord Saturday, February 10, 2018, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
Ruth was born October 1, 1943, in Wyandotte, MI, a daughter of the late William Melvin and Mary Victoria Thornsbury.
Ruth was of the Christian Faith.
Ruth was a retired school bus driver for Carter County Schools and prior to that worked for Mussetter's Grocery in Grayson.
Ruth enjoyed country music, dancing and bowling. Ruth had a true passion for life and loved her family with all her heart.
Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Larry Joe Whitt; three daughters, Donna (Randall) Waters of Oklahoma, Rita Tackett and Tonya (Aric) Lewis both of Grayson; three sons, Dwayne (Ann) Perry of Olive Hill, Kris (Tammy) Whitt of Grayson and Les (Johnda Carper) Whitt of Germantown, OH; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of friends and relatives who all mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be at noon Friday, February 16, 2018, at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with R.C. Thornbury and Moe Shearers officiating. Burial will follow in the Thornsbury Family Cemetery in Lawrence County.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. Friday all at the funeral home.
