Sarah Josephine Howard, 85, of York, KY, passed away January 14, 2018, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY.
Mrs. Howard was born September 18, 1932, in York, a daughter of the late Neil and Nannie Anderson Skaggs.
Mrs. Howard was a member and founder of The Apostolic Church of Big White Oak. She raised and sold produce, enjoyed growing flowers and being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be greatly missed by all.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hargest Hager Howard; one son, Robert "Bobby" Howard; four brothers, and five sisters.
She is survived by three sons, Kenneth Howard of York, Steven and Louise Howard of York, and Roger and Amy Howard of York; two brothers, Ralph and Betty Skaggs of York, and Herschel Skaggs of Load, KY; nine grandchildren, Dustin and Rachel Howard, Derek and Megan Howard, Stephanie and Shannon Osborne, Tiffany and Brent Osborne, Steven and Whitney Howard, Kayla Howard, Jonathon Howard, Sarah Howard and Addison Walters; nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at The Apostolic Church of Big White Oak in York by Pastor Dennis Moore. Burial will be in Howard Cemetery in York.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, KY, and one hour before the service on Saturday at the church.
