Sharon Sue Wright Fields, 70, of Catlettsburg went to be with her Lord Friday, Jan. 19, 2018, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Fields was born Feb. 28, 1947, in Kenova, W.Va., to the late John C. and Betty Quillen Wright.
She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Kyle Anthony Fields; and a brother, Billy Ray Wright.
Sue attended Boyd County Schools. She was a dedicated and loving homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, her life revolved around her family and caring for them.
Sue was a member of First Baptist Church of Cannonsburg, where she was Assistant Treasurer and taught Sunday School.
She is survived by her adoring husband of 53 years, Roy Fields Jr.; two daughters, Christi Griffith and husband Joe of Rush and Carol Layne and husband Jeff of Catlettsburg; a son, Roy Anthony Fields and wife Candi of Grayson; six grandchildren, Jessica Griffith (Jonathan Ferguson), Brian Moore (fiancé Meghan Slone), Kevin Griffith (Jessi), Brandon Fields, Jason Fields and Brooke Layne; two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Olivia Griffith; her sister, Doris Finley (Greg) of Catlettsburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018, at First Baptist Church of Cannonsburg, 11512 Midland Trail Road in Ashland with Pastor Stan Williams officiating. Final resting place will be in Fannin Fields Cemetery on Bear Creek Road in Catlettsburg.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home, 2702 Panola Street in Catlettsburg and from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
