Steven R. Grayson, 63, of South Shore, ended his battle with cancer Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017, at his residence.
He was born May 18, 1954, in Portsmouth, Ohio, a son of the late Darwin Grayson and Margaret Webster Grayson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Pamela Sue Grayson; a brother, Dale Grayson; and a sister-in-law, Vickie Sprinkle Grayson.
He was a retired Union Boilermaker, a Kentucky Colonel and a member of Sons of the American Legion James Flannery Post 276. He was a 1972 graduate of McKell High School, where he was a varsity football player.
He is survived by his children, Chad Grayson, Thomas Grayson, Stevie Grayson, Taylor Grayson and Aleah Grayson; two stepdaughters, Ashley Blackburn and Brooke Potter France; one brother, Duane (Diane Middleton) Grayson; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 23, 2017, at Morton Funeral Home in South Shore with Gary Vaughn officiating. There will be a private family interment.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
