Tommy B.G. Thompson, 89, of Worthington went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Trinity Health Care Services.
Tom was born May 10, 1930 in Branchland, W.Va., a son of the late William G. and Edith Thompson.
He is also preceded in death by his brother, Henson H. "Corky" Thompson; one sister, Anne Gayle Thompson; beloved wife, Glema Fay Thompson; and lifelong best friend, Paul "Perk" Dingess.
Tom proudly served four and a half years in the United States Army, serving overseas during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant. His Career with the C&O Railroad spanned more than forty years. Tom was a 32nd Degree Free Mason and was a Kentucky Colonel. He was also a member of Melrose Methodist Church, VFW, and American Legion.
Tom is survived by two sisters, Della Rose Scaggs and Iris Elaine Thompson; grandson, Thomas Berkley; many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
A funeral service for Tommy B.G. Thompson will be held Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Evans Funeral Home at 12:30 p.m. with Masonic Rites at 11:30 a.m. and Rev. Kyle Vanover officiating. Burial with Military Rites will be at Highland Memorial Gardens in South Point, Ohio. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. at the funeral home on Thursday.
