Vera's Story

Vera Jean Stephenson Adams, 76, of Greenup, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2017, in Ohio State University in Columbus, while surrounded by her loving family.
Vera was born July 29, 1941, in Greenup, a daughter of the late Blanche Stephenson Strunk.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by one brother, Marion D. Nelson.
Vera was a retired clerk and supervisor for the United States Post Office with 26 years service.
She was a 26 year member of Little Sandy Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday School teacher. She was also the hospitality coordinator for 25 years at the church.
Vera loved her grandchildren dearly and enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Arnold W. Adams; two sons, Arnold W. "Buddy" (Brenda) Adams of Richmond and Charles "Chuck" (Crystal) Adams of Ironton, Ohio; three daughters, Rita Payne of Raceland, Denise (Wayne) Barnett of Greenup and Candi (Jerry Brian) Riffe of Greenup; one sister, Gail (Russell) Blanton of Greenup; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; a special friend, Linda Hieneman of Greenup; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many friends who loved her dearly and will greatly miss her.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup by Pastor Tim Wright and Brother Wayne Stephenson. Burial will be in Boggs Cemetery in Warnock.
Friends may call after 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
