Verna Fairchild Felty, 98, of Lexington, formerly of Ashland, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017, in Richmond Place in Lexington.
Mrs. Felty was born Sept. 17, 1918, in Cheap, a daughter of the late James Henry and Linnie Skaggs Fairchild.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Felty; her son, Robert Ernest Felty; six brothers, Milty, Cozy, Fred, James Carney, Charlie and Joe Henry; and three sisters, Margaret, Della Susan and Katie Ann.
Verna was a long time member of First Nazarene Church in Ashland. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her daughters, Margaret Felty (Tom) Hurtz of Lexington and Dreama Felty (Gregory) Wallace of Shepherdsville; four grandchildren, Rebecca (John) Tarr, Tom (Kirsten) Hurtz Jr., Kristen Wallace (Jordan) Stuart and Hannah Wallace; three great-grandchildren, Emily Tarr, Molly Tarr, and Amanda Hurtz (Tyler) Woosley; several nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum Chapel in Ashland. Entombment will follow the service.
There will be no visitation but those wishing to may call after 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Mausoleum Chapel.
