Verna Mae Gillum, 73, of Grayson, went to be with her Lord Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
Verna was born Nov. 27, 1942, in Rush, a daughter of the late Jimmy and Lottie Lucas Berry.
She was preceded in death by one son, James Gillum; a grandson, Cory Gillum; one brother, Lawrence Berry; and one sister, Ruby Marshall.
She was of the Christian faith and a former buyer for Ace Hardware in Winter Garden, Fla.
She is survived by one son, Jeff and wife Raquel Gillum of Orlando Fla.; one sister, Beatrice Pinkerton of Ashland; one brother, Dallard and wife Helen Berry of West Hamlin, W.Va.; six grandchildren, Katelyn, Nichole, Jacob, Victoria, Melody and Beatriz; and one great-grandchild, Colton.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017, at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Minister Clell Lucas officiating. Burial will be in Cribbs Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday and after noon Sunday at the funeral home.
