Virginia Moore VanHoose, 89, of Westwood, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, in Oakmont Manor in Flatwoods.
Virginia was born Dec. 18, 1928, in Ashland, to the late Greene and Mollie Rose Moore.
She formerly worked at Rose Hill Baptist Church Day Care and Ashland Original Market. She was a member of Mead Station Church of God.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Lee VanHoose in 1990; and two brothers, James Robert Moore and William Gene Moore.
She leaves behind her loving children, Richard Lee VanHoose of Westwood, Marilyn Tyson of Murray, Utah and Regina Justice of Ashland; one sister, Donna Sue Barker of Ashland; eight grandchildren, Melissia VanHoose, Richard Shawn VanHoose, Virgil Jason VanHoose, Jon Brenton Creech, Brittany Denise Creech and Ashley Nicole Justice; eight great-grandchildren, Angel Webster, Tyler Webster, Mahala VanHoose, Alex VanHoose, Nate VanHoose, R.C. VanHoose, Haley VanHoose and Bethany VanHoose; a very special cousin, Wilma Jean Withrow of Flatwoods; and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018, at Caniff Funeral Home in Westwood. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
