Wanda Louise Heaberlin Alley of New Orleans, La., formerly a long time resident of Catlettsburg, died peacefully surrounded by her loved ones Friday, July 28, 2017.
Wanda was born May 23, 1939, in Lynch.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Jennie Heaberlin; and two brothers, Bill and Jerry Heaberlin.
Although she lived in New Orleans and Houston, she always considered Catlettsburg her home. A pastor's daughter and the middle child of five, she naturally blossomed into a social butterfly and was loved by everyone that knew her. She was a 1957 graduate of Thomas R. Brown High School. She worked at Kentucky Farmers Bank for 10 years as head bookkeeper and retired from ALCOA after 23 years as office manager.
She was a devoted Mother and Grandmother "Mimi". She loved life and lived every minute to its fullest. She had an infectious smile, carefree attitude and never met a stranger. She loved to travel, Kentucky Basketball, automobiles and her grandchildren, who were her everything. All who knew her loved her.
She is survived by her daughter, Tanya Alley-Vandiver; two grandchildren, Leslie and Brad Vandiver; a great-grandson, Lane Vandiver; a brother, Bob and Karen Heaberlin; a sister, Karen and Bob Lee; two sisters-in-law, Cathy Gottbrath and Peggy Heaberlin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be at a later date.
Neal-Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home in Catlettsburg is in charge of local arrangements.
