Wanda Louise Heaberlin Alley of New Orleans, La., formerly a long time resident of Catlettsburg, died Friday, July 28, 2017, peacefully surrounded by her loved ones.
Wanda was born May 23, 1939, in Lynch and although she lived in New Orleans and Houston, she always considered Catlettsburg her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Jennie Heaberlin; and two brothers, Bill and Jerry Heaberlin.
A pastor's daughter and the middle child of five, she naturally blossomed into a social butterfly and was loved by everyone that knew her. She was a 1957 graduate of Thomas R. Brown High School. She worked at Kentucky Farmers Bank for 10 years as head bookkeeper and retired from ALCOA after 23 years as office manager.
She was a devoted Mother and Grandmother "Mimi", which loved life and lived every minute to its fullest. She had an infectious smile, carefree attitude and never met a stranger. She loved to travel, Kentucky Basketball, automobiles and her grandchildren, they were her everything. All who knew her loved her.
She is survived by her daughter, Tanya Alley-Vandiver, two grandchildren, Leslie and Brad Vandiver; a great-grandson, Lane Vandiver; a brother, Bob and Karen Heaberlin; a sister, Karen and Bob Lee; two sisters-in-law, Cathy Gottbrath and Peggy Heaberlin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, 2017, at Neal Funeral Home, 2409 Center Street in Catlettsburg.
