William H. Barker, 86, of Russell, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017, in Russell.
Mr. Barker was born March 12, 1931, in Catlettsburg, a son of the late Theodore and Thelma Lockwood Barker.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Theodore "Teddy" Barker Jr., Harold Barker and Pete Barker.
Mr. Barker was a Korean War veteran who proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. He retired from Allied Chemical as a general foreman.
Mr. Barker is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Hannah Barker; one daughter, Cindy (Jeffrey) Watson; two sons, Darrell K. (Donna) Barker and Christopher (Diana) Barker; five sisters, Elizabeth Garner, Betty Cress, Bonnie Simms, Sheilia Arrowood and Sue Brown; three brothers, Alben Barker, David Barker and Gerald Barker; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at noon Monday, Sept. 18, 2017, at Church of God of Prophecy in Raceland with Pastor Mark Griffin vfficiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East with military rites by Kenova American Legion Post 93.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017, at Evans Funeral Home in Raceland.
