William Douglas "Bill" Ratliff Sr., 75, of Lloyd, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
Bill was born Aug. 15, 1942, in Paintsville, to William Harrison Ratliff and Arizona Haney, but was raised by his grandparents, Frank and Virgie Ratliff.
He was also preceded in death by two uncles, Clyde and Mitchell Ratliff; two brothers, Donald and Wayne Ratliff; and a sister, Katie Sword.
Bill was a self-employed dry-wall contractor and enjoyed playing the electric guitar. He was of the Christian faith.
Mr. Ratliff is survived by his wife of 44 years, Janice Gilliam Ratliff; five sons, Doug (Jenni) Ratliff of South Shore, Shane (Renee) Ratliff of Flatwoods, Chad (Kristen) Ratliff of Pedro, Matt (Jody) Ratliff of Flatwoods and Kenneth (Jordan) Ratliff of Huntington, W.Va.; one brother, Bill "Lucky" Haney of Campton; a sister, Nancy Rainey of Meally; eight grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017, at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods with Pastors Rick Porter and Mike Amos officiating. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m Tuesday at the funeral home.
