Bill Rhodes, 71, of Westwood, husband of Sheila Kretzer Rhodes, died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017, in University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, following an extended illness.
Bill was born Feb. 22, 1946, in Whitesville, W.Va., a son of the late Otis Rhodes and the late Ruth Larse Rhodes Perry.
He was retired from International Union of Operating Engineers Local 181 and a member of Fairview Baptist Church. Bill loved his church family and always enjoyed fellowship with them. He was also a proud Fairview Eagle fan and was often seen at school functions and ball games. Bill was owner and operator of the former Video World in Westwood for 25 years.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by a son; Brandon Lee Rhodes; three brothers Robert Rhodes of Ironville, Scott Wells of Ashland and Dan Wells of Westwood.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, at Preston Family Funeral Home by Pastor Mike Rice. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
