I am truly sorry for your loss. I met Burt in religious studies class at Morehead State a few years ago and he really had a way of lighting up the room. His smile was contagious and when he got tickled about something really funny-it was the most infectious laughter. We also took another religion class together and he was so smart and he really knew the Bible. Anytime the professor asked he always knew exactly where or what the passage was. When Burt would tell you a story from his past, he was so articulate and in the moment. He was a truly good man. So humble and loyal and smart. He truly will be missed. I know what a good family he had because he always gave them so much thanks. I... feel truly blessed to have had the opportunity to cross paths with such a beautiful person. People like Burt are few and far between these days.Read more

I'm so sad for your loss. Burt was an amazing man. He was, hands down, the best colleague I ever had. Burt was funny, kind and humble, and always brought sunshine into a room.

Burt was one of the most rare Christians. He didn't have to tell anyone he was a Christian because he lived in such a way that his Christianity shined from him.

Jonnie, our hearts are broken in a million pieces. There are no words of comfort we can give other than God knows your pain and will always be there in this time of need for you and all your sweet family. Everyone who knew Bert loved him dearly. We are here for you my friend. Always loving you and asking Jesus to hold you especially tight through these hard days ahead.
