Alice's Story

Alice Louise Watts, 77, of Ashland, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
She was born Nov.r 4, 1939, in Russell, a daughter of the late Kenny P. Pruitt and Bertha Faye Smith Pruitt.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Cecil H. Morgan in 1974 and Earl P. Watts in 1993; son, Cecil Scott Morgan in 2015; a brother, Paul Kenny Pruitt; and a sister, Virginia Carol Jackson.
Alice was a member of Moore Street Tabernacle and Ashland Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. 350. She worked at Regional Center in Madisonville, Kings Daughters Medical Center and Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital, before retiring.
She is survived by two daughters, Teddi Lynn (John Patrick) Bragg of Catlettsburg and Mechele Denice (Ronald) Bolt of Ashland; a brother, Robert M. (Alwina) Pruitt of Ashland; a sister, Marietta Chronister of Madisonville; three grandsons, Brett Matthew Parsons, Steven Tyler Bragg and Kevin Patrick Bragg; two great-grandsons, Tyler Bragg and Jackson Alexander Parsons; and a dear friend, Pat Gullett.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 22, 2017, at Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland with Chaplain Jimm Smedley officiating. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. with an Elks Service at 5:30 p.m. Friday, April 21, 2017, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Community Hospice, 1480 Carter Ave., Ashland, KY 41101.
