Anabell Jarrells Johnson, 96, of Sandy Hook, passed gently Saturday, March 18, 2017, in Elliott County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sandy Hook.
Mrs. Johnson was born Dec. 25, 1920, in Elliott County to the late Addison and Maude Adkins Jarrells. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Johnson of more than 70 years; her son, Woodrow Johnson Jr. of Middletown, Ohio; three brothers, Henry Ford Jarrells, William Clay Jarrells and Donald Jarrells; and three sisters, Elizabeth Gray, Carolyn Jarrells and Evalina Cox.
Anabell was a member of Hipe Enterprise Baptist Church. She was a homemaker that loved making dried apple pies and blackberry dumplings for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Granny Anabell will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and James Henry Lewis of Sandy Hook; six grandchildren, James Woodrow Lewis and his wife, Trish, of Morehead, Jeffery Wayne Lewis and his wife, Angie, of Sandy Hook, Jonathan Matthew Lewis and his wife, Melissa, of Wrigley, Sandra Johnson of Ohio, Dennis Johnson of Tuscan, Ariz., and Jennifer Johnson of Ohio; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 23, 2017, at Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home in Sandy Hook with Brother Rick Pelphrey officiating. Burial will be in Elliott County Memory Gardens.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
