Anna Laura "Ann" Griffith Ramey, 91, of Ashland, passed away Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, following an extended illness.
She was born Feb. 24, 1925, in Ashland, a daughter of the late Samuel and Anna Brewer Griffith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Halleck A. Ramey; two brothers, Leo and Vernon Griffith; four sisters, Esther McCalvin, Virginia Sennish Rohrer, Wesley Williams and Glenna Latimer Griffith
She was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church since April of 1956 and a Kentucky colonel.
Ann will be deeply missed by her family.
Anna was a beautician for 53 years. She was owner of Ivy Ann Beauty Salon for 28 years. She also worked at C.H. Parsons, American Standard and Radiator and Reynolds Metals in Louisville during World War II.
She is survived by her two sons, Brent Colston Ramey and Charles (Joann) Ramey of Ashland; a daughter, Vallery Hill of Kitts Hill, Ohio; two grandsons, Carl (Carrie) Stambaugh of Morehead and Billy (levanna) Stambaugh of Ashland; two granddaughters, Ann Marie Ramey and Brandy (Todd) Jimison, both of Ashland; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services to honor Anna will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, at Calvary Episcopal Church in Ashland with The Rev. Mother T.J. Azar officiating. Final resting place will be in Ashland Cemetery.
Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church.
