Betty Lou Duvall Thompson, 77, of Ashland, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, with her loving family at her side.
Betty was born Nov. 23, 1929, in Boyd County, a daughter of the late Delbert and Ollie Mae McCarty Duvall.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Thompson; a daughter, Debra West; a grandson, James Cecil Childers; a granddaughter, Shonda Smith; and three siblings Ernest, Joyce and Doris.
Betty was a lifelong resident of Boyd County and worked for many years as a cashier, mostly in the restaurant business.
She is survived by her children, Everett (Tammy) Daniels, Sandra Smith, Sheila Daniels; a brother, Robert Duvall; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and her loving pets, Bear and Dookie.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at Catlettsburg Cemetery with Chaplain Jimm Smedley officiating.
There will not be any visitation.
