Billie Jo Runyon Delaney, 85, of Columbus, Ohio, peacefully passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2017, in Mt. Carmel East Hospital in Columbus, surrounded by her four sons.
She was born Feb. 10, 1932, in Catlettsburg, to William Runyon and Goldie Barker Runyon. She was a graduate of Catlettsburg High School.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Rosemary Stevens; a brother, Charles Runyon and wife Katherine; and two nephews, Douglas "Dougie" Stevens and William "Bill" Stevens, who passed on June 8, 2017.
Billie Jo was an avid sports fan and followed the Kentucky Wildcats and New York Yankees. Billie Jo was a huge fan of country and western music, her favorite artist was Conway Twitty. She attended many Conway Twitty concerts with her son, Mark, her sister, Rosemary and niece, Paula. Billie, as she was called by many, loved to play golf in her younger years and was an excellent golfer. She also enjoyed playing card games with her friends and family. Billie Jo worked in retail and then in the restaurant business while continuing to be an excellent mother to her four sons.
Billie Jo is survived by her four sons, Thomas Delaney (Judith) of Cave Creek, Ariz., Robert Delaney (Toni), David Delaney and Mark Delaney, all of Columbus; several grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Douglas Stevens of Ashland; her beloved nieces, Paula Sergent (James) and Debra Barber (Charles), all of Ashland; and many great nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017, at Golden Oaks Cemetery with The Rev. Paula Sergent of Plaza Nazarene Church officiating.
